  • The feeling of someone's presence

    Greetings all
I was just in the middle of a training session, but after having done lifting the sky around 10 times I got this feeling that I was not alone in the room even though I was the only one there.
I tried to shake off the feeling but I became more and more anxious, I tried to relax and said out loud that whoever was there to please leave me be as I was practicing, but in the end it was like I saw persons in the windows reflection and I stopped my session.
I have a feeling that a lot of this might purely be psychological, but it's not the first time I've felt anxious and felt that someone was there.
This is the first time I've really started to seriously practice Qigong so I am still very much a novice, so please bear with my faults, errors and abundance of silyl questions.
I just wanted to know what I should do in the situation because I just can't seem to calm myself down.
I look forward to your answers and appreciate the kindness you show towards me.
    Kind regards
    Casper

    Hi Casper

I think I know what you're going through.

    Check out this thread

"Then how could chi kung overcome diseases where the cause is unknown or when there is no cure? The question is actually incorrect. The expressions "the cause is unknown" and "there is no cure" are applicable only in the Western medical paradigm. The expressions no longer hold true in the chi kung paradigm. In the chi kung paradigm the cause is known, and there is a cure."

      Dear Casper,

I have had a couple similar experiences to your's in the short time I have been practicing Shaolin Kung Fu, as I believe have many others. It is important not to get yourself to worked up (Thanks Sifu Mark ) and to remember that you are safe from harm. A few things have really helped me in this situation. Smiling from the heart, Praying to Guan Yin and asking her to help guide the spirit to the western paradise, Staying centered and reading the Heart Sutra to the spirit/s

        Dear Mark and Nicky.
Thank you both for you helpful and kind answers.
I did the chanting to Guan Yin Bodhisattvah and then I told whoever might present about the wonderful land to the west as you described you had done in your situation Mark.
I had a very calm and nice practice session and ended with a nice Qi flow.
Instead of feeling frightful I felt love and compassion towards the spirits and I thanked whatever spirits that might be around for watching me and taking care of me in my life.
I'm feeling very happy now and full of joy and life.
I am sincerely greatful to be part of this wonderful and so very helpful community.
Again many thanks to you all.
        Kind regards
        Casper

it's called turning yourself on; chi kung initiates DNA reconstruction. the more light(energy-information) you aquire(hence the term en-lighten-ment), the more aware you become of your surroundings, either physical, mental, or spiritual...

            Hi There All,

Just wanted to to add my 2 cents,

Chi kung may initiate DNA reconstruction, but that has nothing whatsoever to do with this kind of experience.
Uki im afraid your getting your wires crossed again.

            To Casper,

I would say, try not to be scared next time this happens.
keep your heart open and happy.
I have seen and heard many scary things, and my conclusion is, a calm and happy heart will melt the most ferocious of monsters
Remember it always takes somone to break the ice.

            all the best,
            Mark.

This is the result of sharpening and awakening new levels of consciousness. What that has to do with turing yourself on

                  Dear Casper,

                  Thanks for this thread.

In my last practice i had the same trouble, I was in the middle of some 'sparring' in chi flow when I go the strong prescence of some standing next to me and opened my eyes suddenly. I went back into chi flow, and I think I messed myself up a bit cos I feel a bit anxious, although that was what i was trying to release.

I'll try to use the advice here, and I'll make them aim of my next practice to release the bad effects of the last one.

                    Hi there,

I found this a really interesting thread to read. I've not long been studying KungFu but I really so enjoy the ChiKung involved because it feels so naturally right to me.

I've always been sensitive to energies and so on, and reading your posts about dealing with presences just makes me feel even more comfortable.

When I was 7 my dad died. I was very close to him and I've often thought that, because I was a child and him being physically with me was only part of our relationship, that when he 'passed over', if you like, part of me maintained that connection with him. Unfortunately, being a sensitive sort, it also left a door open that I had to learn to understand and work with.

As such, I found myself, not too long after his death feeling somewhat unwelcome presences of which I was very afraid. I remember thinking one time that being afraid only seemed to make the situationw worse, so I tried to fill my heart with love - not specifically 'for' them exactly because I felt that at that age it left me with no defenses, but that just by feeling and expressing a whole and radiant sense of love that they might react differently.

Indeed, I found they did retract and I felt safe, as well as having the benefits psychologically of feeling less helpless and the warmth of what I've recently learned to call 'Smiling from the heart'.

I hope you won't mind me sharing this with you, I do this by way of agreement and because I just wanted to express my feelings of happiness to have found people and a way that I feel such a deep respect for and 'rightness' with.

                    Claire

                          Dear Claire,

I am sorry that you lost your dad.

It has been a difficult time, especially for a little girl.

I am happy that you have found a new light in your heart, and would like to thank you very much for sharing this with us.

                          Warm regards,
