Iron Wire-set @ Summer Camp 2010

Dear Shaolin family and virtual kwoon visitors,


As Sifu Robin Gamble previously announced, this years Shaolin Wahnam Summer Camp will host a course for the famed Hoong Ka (Hung Gar) Iron Wire set!

The course will be taught by Sifu Anthony Spinicchia of Wahnam West, and Sifu Markus Kahila of Shaolin Wahnam Finland.

This course serves as an excellent companion to Grandmaster Wong's Triple Stretch course also taught at the Summer Camp 2010, as students are provided with an in-depth introduction to Hoong Ka (Hung Kar) kungfu and traditional Southern Shaolin force training and combat application!

Timetable:

• July 13th - July 16th, 3-4pm

Pricing:

• For Shaolin Wahnam students: 175 pounds
• For non-Wahnam participants: 600 pounds

Minimum requirements:

For Shaolin Wahnam students:

• Standard syllabus Level 2 in Shaolin Kungfu or Taijiquan completed

For non-Wahnam participants:

• Sifu's Generating Energy Flow -course completed
• At least three years of previous kungfu experience

Important note to participants:


Although video clips of the Iron Wire set can be found at Shaolin Wahnam websites, the participants are encouraged NOT to learn the Iron Wire set beforehand from videos.


The reason for this is simple: The Iron Wire set is for building internal force. Therefore, it needs to be taught as an internal exercise, not as outward form. This is for the students best interest.


However, there are relatively few movements in the set, and it is fairly easy to remember. Furthermore, students can always jog their memory afterwards from videos after having learned the set.
