Dear everyone,
During one of my daily practices, while remaining at standing meditation, an interpretation of certain phrases of the Quran was dawned on me.
The following is a version of the English translations of Chapter 97 of the Quran:
"We revealed it in the Night of Destiny.
How awesome is the Night of Destiny!
The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by their Lord's leave, to carry out every command.
Peaceful it is until the advent of the dawn."
Standard interpretations say that it is the Quran that was revealed in the Night of Destiny (Laylatul Qadar in Arabic).
One morning, in the course of my daily practices, it dawned on me that the above Chapter 97 could also mean Enlightenment.
We revealed it in the Night of Destiny.
How awesome is the Night of Destiny!
(You will achieve Enlightenment in the Night of Destiny)
The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.
(The moment of Enlightenment is better than your life time. A period of thousand months represents one's whole life time).
Angels and Spirit descend to carry out the Lord's command.
(This means that enlightenment follows the Universal Laws; it is not magic. Everyone can strive to achieve it).
Peaceful is the night until the advent of the dawn.
(The night represent "darkness". Night of destiny represents peaceful in darkness.
How could this be possible? Can you be in peace while in darkness?
Yes, even when you're still in darkness, you can be peaceful at the same time, if you are already in the path.
Which path?
The path that is not separated from the destination;
How can you reach this path?
as long as you submit to the Laws of the Universe.
yu wei, and then wu wei.
Eventually, the peaceful night turns to dawn.
Dawn represents enlightenment over "darkness" of ignorance and unawareness.)
