  • Shaolin and the Art of Negotiation with Sifu Piti - A Must!

    Dear Shaolin family and friends,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the highly successful Scholar Project, "Shaolin and the Art of Negotiation", will be mounted for a second time this year.

The course was debuted in January at the beginning of 2009. Sifu Piti came all the way up to Toronto (in the middle of winter) and gave a paradigm-changing workshop. To this day, I am continuing to enjoy and implement the negotiation skills I learnt that weekend. It is more astounding to me how long-lasting the effects of the workshop have been on my fellow-participants (including very close friends and family!).

Brother Piti, thank you for agreeing to teach this Scholar Project in August. Brother Rama, thank you for generously offering to host this project at the Blue Mountain.

If you wish to have full confidence that you can walk into any situation (be it at work or home) and come out with a win-win solution, this is absolutely the course to take!

    Hello everybody,

I take this opportunity to tell you that a new window for learning opens up in August, for me is wonderful. The invitation to the Blue Mountains by Sifu Rama should not be wasted, there will two incredible courses, the first with Sifu Emiko and the second, taking advantage of the trip already made to Costa Rica, with Sifu Piti.

Being able to participate in very advanced programs with Sifu Piti has allowed me, personally, to close very significant negotiations. Where for the first time in my career, all parties are satisfied with the outcome. It feels strange to see after intensive negotiations in which neither side wants to cede their point of view, that the agreements crystallizes and everyone is in pure harmony ... in peace.

If I may, I would like to share with you 2 stories after having participated in negotiation courses with Sifu Piti.

The first and the most surprising achievement was the negotiation of an agreement to manage, sell and market a very special product for all Latin American countries that has a distinctive feature. The creator owns the technology to make the product and at that time I thought this person would not be willing to surrender his technology to us. Well I will like to let you know that after 2 years of intense negotiations, today this is a reality.

The second experience was as impressive, a negotiation where one party was detaching himself of his life dream. It was wonderful to see the feeling he had after the negotiation concluded. He feels he is making a transfer to us of his creation, to make it bigger, so he appreciated during the whole process that he was delivering continuity in the development of his dream and not a detachment of his dream. All parties where benefited.

It seems unrealistic to say that in a negotiation one can achieve this kind of agreements; if you ask me before taking part in these negotiations I would have said... not a chance. But after seeing the development of these negotiations, to be there and feel it, using the right tools at the right time, allowed me to achieve the greatest benefits to all the parties involved. For me it has been a great time for learning.

But is more than the achievement of a closed deal, a moment where I leave the negotiation completely happy and joyful. To see that neither party was concerned, no one is left with the burden of negotiating a bad deal. For me this is the most important part on the process. To achieve, to construct during the process an all win-win situation. To allow space for the dream to continue, to generate more growth without jealousy, without resentment and with the satisfaction of a job well done.

To make a deal where one party is unhappy, where she or he feels abused by the power of the other, to feel less, it is not generate more value. We need to generate a good KARMA, it is not ideal for us in our path to generate bad KARMA.

I am grateful for the opportunity to being able to manage myself within two worlds: one where the ancient teachings handles everything that surrounds us and makes us more aware of what there is. And second, where the scientific manage the evolution of concepts, results and learning over the years of the development of the human race. I think this course has no equal anywhere in the world and we are fortunate to be able to access it through our school.

I appreciate the strength that Sigung, Sifu Rama, the school, instructors and the Center for Latin America are giving to this gathering in our area, so we can gain access to the courses in a more efficient and competitive way.

          Dear Shaolin family and friends,

Some of my friends and I are taking "Shaolin and the Art of Negotiation" for the second time (first in Toronto, now in Blue Mountain). We are excited to see how our negotiation skills are faring these days - better? worse? the same as before? One thing's for sure, the entire workshop with Sifu Piti, being unlike any other course on communication or negotiation I've ever taken, is an unforgettable ride full of thrills.

I look forward to the fun of negotiating with a whole new group of people!

          Warmest wishes,

            Dear Shaolin Wahanam family,

I echo Sister Emiko's words and add that knowing Sifu Piti's skills and knowledge as a result of many years of experience and dedication both in the Shaolin Arts and the corporate world, his Shaolin Art of Negotiation it must be a must.

Interestingly this course is not limited only for business negotiation but for everyday private life negotiations... Very useful, highly recommended.

                          Dear Shaolin family and friends,

We have just completed the first day of "Shaolin and the Art of Negotiation". And what a day it has been! We can hardly wait for tomorrow to come so that we can share all the exciting discoveries and confirmations that we have made from our simulated "negotiations" (that we did today).

Thank you, Riccardo Siheng for your kind words. Yes, the time here has been more than magical. Everyone has been wonderful - and so passionate about quality of life!

Tomorrow is another day of fun "verbal sparring", and learning how to implement Shaolin principles into our daily lives.

Thank you, Sifu Piti, for your awesome and inspiring facilitation!

Thank you, Sifu, for founding the Scholar Project, so that we can achieve our vision of 'quality of life' through the Shaolin arts.

Humble respect and joy (and anticipation for tomorrow), your sister,

                          Emiko
