  • The Butterfly Effect

Hello One and All to this the 'so you think you can live without Butterfly Knives' thread

    <cue cheesey gameshow music>

Yes indeed in this all new shiney thread I intend to woo you with my spangley hypnotic ways and convince you that THE BUTTERFLY KNIVES are the way foreward, that you can't leave home without them and that they are <Darth Vader voice> 'your destiny'... </Darth Vader voice>

So, to begin, a quick search on Youtube over my luncheon and look what I found!:

Disclaimer: I would like to point out that I have no experience as yet with the Butterfly Knives, and that any comments hereafter are based on my own feelings rather than any knowledge. Also any comments regarding, in particular, video clips, are not meant to cause any offence

    Now then...

This was the first I found and I thought it was quite a pretty display, no idea about the practicality, but certainly interesting to watch:

This one kinda looked like it needed a disco soundtrack to me, but nonetheless, it has the lovely big shiney knives so I can't complain

I quite liked some of the bits towards the middle in this one:

Mmmmm, this one definitely had more spirit and I enjoyed watching this one - not to mention Master Lei Chanwo shows a rather flashy whirlwind type movements of the blades which is, like, so cool!

Ok, that's all I can offer for now, but stay tuned, I'll be back...

    Claire

p.s. for those of you who have already voted for the Butterfly Knives on this thread started by my glorious Sifu, you are, as they say 'da man' and there shall be 'tea all round' at Summer Camp, on me - I expect to see you there with voucher in hand!

      Terms and Conditions

      Hi Claire,

You didn't specify the terms and conditions of the offer so I wondered if you could clarify things to me via three questions:-

      1) I am not able to go to the Summer Camp 07 but IF I had been able to go, I would definitely have voted for Travelli---Butterfly Knives. Am I still eligible for the free 'cup of tea' (tm) offer?

      2) Can the said 'cup of tea' (tm) be mailed overseas? Ireland for example?

      3) Is the voucher redeemble for cash? And if so, how much? Just curious...

Clarification on this would be greatly appreciated as I have recently run out of tea.

      Peter.

Oh, seeing as it's you Peter, Yes

er... well.. I suppose so but it might be a bit cold by the time it gets to you, not to mention it would be more of a bag of tea with bits of cup 'in it'... your call!

Will Monopoly Money do? ...and strangely I am reminded of the time at university a rather inebriated friend of mine tried to pay for a pint of beer with a picture of Ulrika Jonsson... I remember distinctly him insisting with the barwoman that it was a more than adequate trade!

Be warned, I shall have more Butterfly Kinfe *joy* to spread later on today

          Sifu,

It looks likely the butterfly knifes are going to make it as one of three weapons to be taught. Can I be cheeky and swap one of my previous option for the butterfly knifes. Its just that I want to get a free cup of tea from sije Claire as she is offering this to anyone voting for the knifes..................come to think of it, she'll probably pull rank and ask me to make the teas instead as I am likely to be the most junior. Typical of me to come up with a idea that backfires.

What a summer this is going to be. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

          Warm regards

          Martin

Martin, you changed your vote?! - you are now officially entitled to 2 free teas! I shall make you a special shiney voucher and everything!!

by the way, if you needed any more convincing, here's a few of the '101 uses for Butterfly Knives around the home' ideas I've been coming up with... Remember a Butterfly Knife isn't just for Christmas, I mean Summer Camp

                  COMPETITION - Piece of cake?

                  *Competition*

                  Yes, it's Competition Time!

Looking for some more good clips and photos today and found an excellent picture. Doesn't it make you just want to pick up a pair of blades? Which makes me wonder who that very handsome young man is?

Now here's what you have to do... *drum roll*

Find this picture on the web

The first person to find it and post the correct link for it here will win a piece of cake to go with their tea... and if you're not coming to Summer Camp, I'll mail you the money to get one - Can't say fairer than that now can ya?

                  There's one condition:
If you win, I do expect to see a picture of you back here, enjoying said tea and cake

                  Good Luck!
