  • UK Summer Camp 2006 - Open Discussion

    Dear all,

With the resounding success of the 2005 Summer Camp slowly starting to slip away from some people's memories (or not ), this is just a short post to announce that the provisional lineup for the 2006 Summer Camp can be found here on the Shaolin Wahnam Scotland website. Once the details, dates and locations are all confirmed the information will be posted here and on Shaolin Wahnam England's website as well.

Due to most of this years courses being fully booked well before the Summer Camp even started (and with the organisers finding themselves in the unfortunate position of having to turn people away), provisional booking are already being accepted.

Four days, six hours a day.

    England is the new Malaysia.

The food, weather, locals aren't as good but I bet the price is better!

    Cheers

      hi,
i have some questions about this summer camp.
ive been reading alot lately on shaolin wahnam, i also have a book the art of shaolin kungfu from sifu wong and i am thinking about going to one of those courses he gives since i see so many wonderfull replies of the benefits posted here.
but im a school student of only 18 years old ive been training shaolin kungfu in my country for a few months but i do not feel this is geniune kungfu that sifu wong teaches.
since i do not have alot of money, going to malaysia seems a bit hard.
but this summer camp is alot closer for me(im from the Netherlands) but i was wondering how much something like this would cost?
also will sifu wong be teaching there? or someone else?
any other information is welcome to.

      thanks in advance

            Venue?

            Dear Sipak Darryl and Marcus,

is the venue for the Second UK Summer Camp arranged yet?

It would be hard to beat the wonderful surrounding of the University of Kent campuss that we all enjoyed last year.

            Regards

                Hi Jt,

I'm amazed I missed your post

                PHP Code:
will sifu wong be teaching there? or someone else?
Both - each course is taught by Sifu, with ongoing correction and guidance available from nearly all of the Instructors and Assistant Instructors within the UK.

And for a bit of advance information, with the advance booking discount the Shaolin Kungfu course is only £400!

                  Hello Jt,

I could not help but notice that your situation is alot like mine was. I am eighteen aswell and not in the best of finacial situations either. I discovered Sifu through "The art of Shaolin Kung-fu," just as you did. It was such an amazing book that it inspired me to spend five months working awfully long shifts to get the funds required to attend the intensive Shaolin Kung-fu course. And I must say, it was absolutley worth it!

If you are debating whether or not to attend, I would highly recommend it!

                    Hi Jt,
I'd definately reccommend going to the summer camp. I went last year and found that not only did I learn lots but I also had a great time. I wish I could make it this year, roll on 2007 .

                      Very Important

                      Hello everyone,

                      A quick update.

I would like to remind everyone planning to attend course/s at the 2006 UK Summer Camp that 5th June 2006 is only a month away. 5th June is the deadline for those wishing pay the reduced course prices. If payment in full is not recieved by 5th June then the higher course prices will apply.

Like last year the Shaolin Kung Fu and Generating Energy Flow courses are going to be fully booked before July. So, if you have expressed an interest to attend these courses but have not yet paid a deposit, I will be contacting you in the next few days to see if you are still interested. If I do not hear from you I will assume you have changed your mind and offer your place to another person.

If you wish to contact me, my e-mail address is marcus.santer@shaolinwahnam.co.uk.

I look forward to meeting many new people in July.

                      Kind regards

                      Marcus

                        Hi All,

I rang the university of Kent this week to get prices for accommodation for the summer camp.
                        The following are available:

                        Single B&B standard £24.50/night
                        Single B&B + ensuite £35.00/night
                        Twin B&B + ensuite £55.00/night

House with self catering £70.00/night (minimum 5 people for 3 nights)
                        or £420.00/week

                        cheers,
                        Andy

Thankyou for posting that information Andy, seems to me that the smart move is to get a group together and book a house (£70 X 4 nights (e.g Shaolin Kung Fu course) = £280 / 5 people = £56 / 4 = £14 per night).

                          Kind regards

                            Hello ,

I am attending Kungfu and all 5 Chi Kung days (may need a holiday afterwards ) is there anyone that I can share a house with, either for the full duration or part of it? If necessary I will keep my arse covered the whole time

My classmate Ben is also attending Kungfu I believe.

                            Regards,
                            Andy
