In a separate thread, I stated that Yoda could beat up anyone else, ever. Mike B reckons that Yoda couldn't have beaten up Vader, or the other evil nasty bloke.
So, I decided to start this as a thread but with (semi)noble aims.
If Yoda could have defeated them (my view), why didn't he?
If Vader would have won (Mike's view), why didn't he go looking?
Answers on a postcard please (definitely showing my age now)
Well at the rate than London's 'alternative social scene' is being expanded there will be a Wahnam outing to see SW3 next summer
Vader couldn't find Yoda due to all the force/chi on that planet he was hiding in (incidentally SW5 will lose all its suspense for younger viewers who watch the early ones first - rather than thinking "who is this silly little puppet and why doesn't he tell Luke where Yoda is" they will be thinking "that Yoda's rather lost it a bit).
The odd (dramatically) thing is that Lucas's whole 30 year project will end on the most downer of downers - ie all the Jedi having been wiped out (apart from Yoda who legged it (for some reason)).
So all sidais - make sure you do all your stance training conscientiously...don't rush your training...
Cuckoo.

Of course you effectively demonstrated the weakness of participative democracies (now I will never know Andrews views - I mean staring a thread on the merits and otherwise of the swiss form of governance will get mosy peoples shen sinking lol) - u fixed the question design!
One Q for your odd view (why would Yoda give up such a nice view from his office?) and 3Qs to split the opposition!

To maintain some sort of Yin/Yang balance my vote goes to Vader. My argument is based on numerical facts:
a) Vader is much bigger than Yoda. Yoda's is only 0.66 meter height and Vader 2.02 meters (in armor). I assume that in a real fight such difference matters.
Midichlorian count matters. Darth Maul won Qui-Gon Jinn because of his greater talent (2 units) and Obi-Wan Kenobi lost his fight against Vader because he was weaker (14,3 units). Luke is weaker than Vader, but his victory was based on abusing family relation, thus making Vader confused and not utilizing his whole strenght against him. There is no similar family relation between Vader and Yoda, thus Vader would win
It is not a grounded belief to think that Vader could not defeat Yoda because of the earlier grandmaster-student kind of relation they had; in the movies Vader killed two of his earlier masters (Obi-Wan and Palpatine), so I see no reasons why would he not be able to kill Yoda as well.
Best wishes,
Panu

Hey Guys, I like the poll. And yes I voted that Darryl has to much time on his hand.
But I would also like to add that Ovidus has way to much time on his hands as well
So using a slightly different logic to the poll, when asked who is the most powerfull, Vader only gets 2 votes, Yoda a measly 7 and yours truly a mightily impressive 11. Humbled am I.
I'm so glad we have a misc. thread on this forum I.M.H.O Yoda would take Vader to the cleaners, do you know how much force training you have to do to end up looking like Yoda? He was 6ft 4in when he first started out (or so I heard )
Keep up the good work everyone.
Marcus
