  • WOW - Nottingham Regional Course

Hello to all of the people who attended the course of the weekend. It was great to put faces to the people I have been talking to on the forum.

Words will fail when I try to explain how much I got out of the weekend. I took another step forward in being able to relax. I learnt a little more about standing upright and relaxed. I got to have some experiences of realising I was resisting where my chi was taking me and then letting it. I got a chance to experience anger - just pure anger - and having love come in at the same time. I got to experience smashing a wall and shouting out loud, without pain or embarrassment. And the wonderful thing is, it was all from direct experience rather than me trying to understand someone's words. I began to get a sense of how easy it is for me to block things that otherwise might be quite natural.

I also got a chance to have Sifu look at and correct my stances. He looked at my three circle stance said a couple of things and something seemed to happen. I am not sure if he touched my waist/pelvis area but all of a sudden it moved to a different position. He explained how the way I was holding my hands and arms was locking energy up at my shoulders and elbows. Suddenly, I was experiencing the stance totally differently. I began to relax into it. My back seemed to extend. Things changed. When I stood up I was very full of energy. My hands felt pumped up and my arms felt like they were rising from my side, even though they weren't moving. I can only describe the sensation as being fuller throughout my body - and this does not justice to the experience but one has to say something. Sifu smiled at me. As he took me through the other stances making adjustments the feeling of power and extension stayed with me. What a fantastic experience.

In the sinew metamorphosis exercises that followed I began to let go in a way I haven't managed before. At times it felt like I was getting into positions that would tear my body apart but as I gave myself up to the movement they just seemed to open me up. Scampering around in a circle like a monkey was fun. It was all fun.

Thank you to Sifu for sharing his experience with us - as I say words fail me. Thank you to Marcus for organising the course. Thank you to everyone else who was there for helping to make it an unforgettable experience.

    Smile from the heart,

    Barry

Thanks for sharing your experience Barry: I had a laugh on my face when reading your story. It seems you have enjoyed

I am not sure if he touched my waist/pelvis area but all of a sudden it moved to a different position
I had a similar experience when Sifu did me in another horse ride position! Funny isn't it?

              Hi Everyone,

Barry: Maybe your experience in your sitting room before the course makes more sense to you now

Gentlebreeze: Sifu will conduct courses in Ireland from February 15th-20th, Shaolin Chi Kung and Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan. 3 days Chi Kung and 2 days Tai CHi Chuan. Details will be on the Irish website this coming week www.shaolinwahnamireland.com

He will also conduct courses in Scotland, organised by Darryl in mid March, details of that will be on the UK site or you can contact Darryl.

I would advise early booking for all of these courses, once details are displayed.

              Smile from the Heart,
              Joan.

                      Thanks

                      Everyone,

Thanks for the feedback. Life is good, people around me are smiling and so am I. I have a lot of energy at the moment and my consultancy and counselling work is going well. Happy days.

Joan - Looking forward to February. If I hadn't come in September I wouldn't have been practising the stances. If I hadn't been practising the stances I wouldn't have asked Sifu to look at them for me. If I hadn't asked Sifu to look at my stances .... So, thanks for organising the course in September.

Mike, Yes still wearing the shorts but considering various apparell. The thought of rubber appeals at the moment . My neighbours aren't suffering 'cos the volume is turned down currently. That is the great thing about the courses, it can be turned up as loud as needs be.

Hubert and Darryl, Meeting you both on Friday evening really helped. It was nice to meet and feel easy in your company. Watching you both practising your Kung Fu on Sunday lunchtime was fantastic. At the moment I am sticking with Tai Chi Chuan but who knows for the future

Hurrah - which is the same as smiling from the heart only more typically English.

                        Barry,

Just thought I'd jump in to say again that I enjoyed you hitting the wall.... probably not half as much as you did but it certainly helped my chi flow

Same as you, I got a whole lot out of the weekend.... culminating in feeling quite ridiculously good on the train journey on the way home on Monday morning.

I've just got back from my first Kungfu lesson with Sifu Jordan which was great too

                        regards,
                        Jordan.

ps - Thanks to everyone on the course, it was great meeting you all.
