Defence Pattern(s) - 'Monkey Steals Peach' or 'Golden Leopard Enters Rock'
Application - As the opponent attacks with 'White Ape Tests Cave', lean back the body slightly to avoid the kick, and immediately move the left leg forward to south-west into a False-Leg Stance or a sideway Horse-Riding Stance and grip his groin with the right hand. This pattern is 'Monkey Steals Peach'.
If the fragile-looking lady does not want to soil her hand, she can strike the opponent’s back with a vertical leopard punch. This is 'Golden Leopard Enters Rock'.

Defence Pattern - 'Golden Leopard Speeds Through Jungle'
Application - As the opponent jumps up to attack with 'Swallow Rushes to Sky', move the right leg to south-east into a sideway Bow-Arrow Stance or follow up with the left leg into a T-Stance and simultaneously strike the opponent’s thigh or ankle with a left leopard fist.

Defence Counter - 'Happy Bird Hops Up Branch'

Defence Pattern - 'Child Prays To Buddha'
Application - In the pattern “Spiritual Boy Climbs Tree”, the opponent attacks you with his elbows (or arms) as well as his knees.
Move one leg backward into a deep Bow-Arrow Stance and simultaneously place your two palms together as in prayers and thrust them out at the opponent’s throat.
This pattern is called “Child Prays to Buddha”.

Your retreating into a deep Bow-Arrow Stance avoids his knee attack, your forearms deflect his elbow attack as you thrust out your palm at his throat.
This pattern is found, for example, in the Tiger-Crane Set of Hoong Ka.

Series 1, 2 and 3 are now complete.
Please feel free to look back and study the entire thread from the start.

I'd like to thank Sigung, and my brothers Mark and Jonny for their help.
Special thanks to Sonwukong for asking the initial question.

              'Official Version'

              Hello,

I'm pleased to announce that an 'official' version of this thread will be released as an article in the near future.

The pictures will be re-taken professionally, and I will remedy any previous flaws.

One issue was that some of my pictures were taken in reverse of the original Thai picture, or that the description was in the other mode or direction to the picture(s).
Also, some of the photos are of 'variations' of the prescribed counter, rather than the standard counter discussed.

              Jamie

Thank you Jamie. I have enjoyed viewing this thread and thought you did a very good job of illustrating the various counters.

I'd just like to comment again how effective these counters were.

Being on the recieving end of a few leapord strikes to the ribs and a couple of groin kicks Im not sure how excited I am about photographing them again!!

But it will be great to help compose this article showing some of the ways our Kung Fu can be used to counter Muay Thai.

All the best as I go and practice my flying knees!
