Sifu Teaching the Iron Wire set again? In Dublin?! I must have been drinking too much Guinness - surely its too good to be true!
I'll be drinking a few more Guinness that week if it is eh!

Given the iron content of a Dublin Guinness this could be the most Iron course ever!

I believe even Uncle Righteousness himself swore by both Iron Wire - and Guinness! I was going to pick the sentence out but its worth reading this whole post again:

Dear Shaolin Wahnam Family

Yes what a week indeed. I feel very lucky and privileged to have been part ,yet for another year, of these beautiful Valentines courses!

It started with two amazing days of Sinew Metamorphosis. Although this has been the third time I have taken this course and already the two previous courses have been fantastic, this course was so special, I am running out of descriptive words. Sigung's transmission was so direct. The effect was so tangible and the beautiful laughter that filled the last sessions was such a joy.

The Tai Chi Chuan Course against other Martial Arts was incredibly fun and inspiring. Every bit of it was a wonderful opportunity to confirm progress that has been made, go deeper and see clearly what can be improved. I loved the stance training session and the revisions of "rotation from the waist", the "form, flow, force method" and its application to "Green Dragon Shoots Perls". Just this part would have made the course for me already. But ofc it was just the start . Sigung then lead us from the relatively easy defense against a boxer to the defenses against Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Wrestling and Muay Thai. I must admit, the "defense against a boxer" was always the part, I would have voluntarily skipped in the previous courses. I didn't like the raw force and speed of a boxer and felt it was too much of a "boys" thing . This course has definitely changed both my perception and skills. It seems so easy now .

Tai Chi Chuan is such an amazing and beautiful martial art.

Thank you Sigung for your generous teachings and transmission, for the corrections, the help and for your generous advice. We are very blessed and privileged in Shaolin Wahnam that we may learn from you.
Thank you Joan Siguma for organizing this wonderful course week and beeing such a generous host. It was very inspiring to see you, your students and the Irish Shaolin Wahnam Family,who so deeply live the ideals of our school.
My thanks also goes to the Irish Shaolin Wahnam Family and to all the course participants for the warm welcome and the fun.

Thank you for posting your wonderful experiences and kind words on the Valentine's courses here on the Virtual Kwoon and I am even more happy to see my Irish students contributing also The power of Yi Jin Jing!!

Paul, I had not even thought of that...........easy to know you are an Irish man at heart ha ha!

We will have to do the Guinness Brewery Tour for certain next year in honour of Sigung Lai, so be sure and book an extra day after the course for that.
