Should the forum be closed to Non Shaolin Wahnam Members
no no no...thats totally fascist. i cant believe its been brought up. the arts are aboout sharing and recognising that every living being is part of the whole, and inherently enlightened, they just need a bit of reminding or encouragment sometimes. to deny non shaloin wahnam members is toDENY YOUR VERY BEING!!!!
Many non Wahnam members can learn much from this forum, and many Wahnam members can learn from our guests.
It would be a shame to throw that opportunity (for both sides) to the gutter.
Nevertheless, I think we (Shaolin Wahnam) should now be much more rigid with disrespectful guests. Yes, I am thinking about banning disrespectful people faster. We have learned a lot from disrespectful people this year, now that many threads are showing the appropriate way to reveal and treat such people, we have to move on to the next level. Time to present claws (ban easily).
Hello folks,
I voted No, because Shaolin Wahnam is an open minded/hearted school.

I voted yes as you preach open mindedness and acceptance of others but from what i've seen and from what i've gathered from others i have talked to in real life and on the net outsiders see the actual way things are run here, a way that says do it our way or we don't want to know you, anybody who goes against the grain is swarmed upon by the collective and soon disposed of, it is scary that Shaolin Wahnam has more in common with a cult than martial arts

Welcome back Atat! I knew that you would share your opinion.

For those who are interested, Atat26 is a forum troll who had previously been banned. As you can see in this thread here, he's got nothing better to do that register on our forum under multiple usernames trying to make trouble. He recently pretended to be a sincere new member, and then popped in to give that "member" (i.e. himself) a warning to stay away from Shaolin Wahnam. Juvenile behavior, at best. Psychotic, at worst.
The results of this poll are heartwarming. Of course, Atat26 can't see that, which is no surprise. This forum will continue to remain open to non-members, but we will continue to ban trolls like Atat26, just as every respectable forum on the Internet must do.
As I mentioned in another thread, we are extremely lenient with our banning when compared to other discussion forums. Administrators from other forums were shocked to hear that, after 4 years of operation and thousands of daily hits, our forum has banned less than 10 people. We only ban the worst of the worst, like Ryan (who I banned 4 times). I guess that's because the rest of the time, we're too busy being brainwashed by our cult.

I was not a Shaolin Wahnam member when I first visited, and over my time here I have seen many others who have followed the same path. If my memory serves, Hugo Darian, subclock, cha muir and Shaolin Mike to name but a few. Their contribution is valuable and they have become Wahnam students.
We also value the excellent contributions from our many guests who can conduct themselves in a grown-up and courteous manner. Even when (some would say especially when) they don't agree with us.
If this forum were closed to non-wahnam members then I may not have decided to take a class with Sifu Anthony S, as well as wishing to learn Wahnam martial arts. It was reading the experiences and wisdom of the people on this board that lead me to this path.
