Today was a very special day, a special day of Zen training and like many other courses Sigung has taught recently they are hard to convey in words to do them justice. Perhaps they need no justice but a clear account for others to read and say 'ahh, now I understand better, that's a course I would like to do next time'.
This was one of those courses!
On the drive home from London Mark and I sat mostly in silence, not because we had nothing to say but because nothing needed to be said, the course left us feeling very happy, nothing undone or left to do, spiritually fulfilled.
We tried to recount the day and it occurred to us that the secret of Zen had been answered in an excellent question by one of the students (sorry I do not remember your name right now), the question was why was practicing lifting the sky today so different from lifting the sky in the Cosmic Shower course, the answer Sigung gave was profound...
'That was a Cosmic shower course, this is a Zen course'.
And there was the answer right there. We can practice Lifting the Sky today and the intention is A. Tomorrow we practice and the intention is B. Intention A produces A result. B produces B result.
If the intention or thought is Merge with the Cosmos then in a Zen state of mind we Merge with the Cosmos.
It struck me that it is the same with Kung Fu: If I want my strike to hit with force it hits with force, if I want to flow I flow. This is why we have to be careful with our thoughts, they forge our reality.
It was simple, direct and efficient.
Thank you Sigung for the teaching, Fleur for organizing and Martin for the venue.
Best wishes
Tim

So I chose one the most pressing one. My partner and I had to move out of our current home and find a new place. There were a number of different options - each with various advantages and drawbacks making the decision making a little tricky. Anyway following Sifu's guidance I 'entered' this problem whilst sitting in silence awaiting the solution.
