    Dear Shao,

Thank you for your good wishes.

Please do not consider this post as an attack, but rather kind guidance, as it is intended. You are not practicing Marvelous Fist. You have had a nice result (feeling healthier and stronger than you've ever been), and that could be a result of training internally. However, your results should be much, much greater after training Marvelous Fist for 4 years.

I have never trained Marvelous Fist, so how can I be certain? Your results, while nice, are not advanced results. In fact, I would expect greater results after 4 years of training high level chi kung. Marvelous Fist is an extremely high level kung fu skill. The results of proper training in Marvelous Fist will be much greater than feeling healthier and stronger. I know this for a fact, as I have received greater results from practicing Golden Bridge for 6 months.

Again, please do not take this as an attack. It is simply the truth, and it is possible that it is no fault of your own. There are three aspects to learning - the teacher, the method, and the student. I cannot say where the fault lies in your case. I do not know where all of your training information came from, I do not know the specifics of your training method, and I do not know you.

If you have respectfully followed the training method, daily for 4 years, that in itself is quite an acheivement! Congratulations!

Also, if I may, I would like to comment on two aspects of your stated training method:

    1) you said, "deliver as many blow's as you can to the center of the well until your chi exhaust's". All of my experience with interal arts tells me this is dangerous. Intentionally exhausting your chi sounds very harmful. When practicing internal arts like this, you should be building more chi than you are exploding out. At the end of your practice session, you should be energized and relaxed.

    2) you said, "you should just put in minimum effort for maximum achievement". Anyone who has trained in high level martial arts will tell you that it takes great effort. Your above quote, with regards to your training, means train the best method for your intended results. In this way, you do not waste your time. But the effort put into correct training should be great. Please do not confuse effort with strain, exhaustion, pushing through, or "no pain, no gain".

Again, I wish you the best on your quest to attain Marvelous Fist. Your goals will only be met with a very solid foundation in internal skill. Please do not forget this. As many here can tell you, the most basic skills can often be the most rewarding!

    -Matt

          Dear Steven,

I know the methods for Marvelous Fist. Sifu was generous enough to teach me the methods back in 2003. It's clear to me that you have no idea what you're talking about.

As I said in my private message, I would never accept someone with your attitude as a student. You still have a lot to learn. Your ideas about kung fu are ridiculous. But this problem could be remedied if not for your attitude, which is the real problem.

I suggest that you start by actually listening to the advice and the lessons in this thread. I also suggest that you learn from Sifu Wong's books, and read every single page of Sifu Wong's extensive Q&A.

          Good luck,

              Dear Shao,

From my reading, Sifu Anthony is not suggesting you learn Marvelous Fist from our Sifu's Q&A, but rather that the information contained therein may give you a good foundation for understanding kung fu.

              Kindly,

I have learned from Sifu Anthony in person. I can assure you, Sifu is most qualified to teach. Sifu's attitude is of a gentle, caring and respectable nature. With Sifu's chi kung instructions, my body structure has been reformed to a correct shape and left shoulder has been pain free since I learned from him. This was from taking only one class.

When one is set in his ways, a person can take offense from receiving good advice from another. The advice given by Shaolin Wahnam is sound, Check out the school's history.

                          Dear Steven,

I think it is best that you take a break from our forum and come back when you are ready to discuss things without calling people names.

As Matt has pointed out, your directions for training Marvelous Fist are dangerous. We do not want anyone to think you are an authority and then try to train using your guidelines. Sifu Anthony pointing out that you don't know what you are talking about is for everyone's benefit, including your own.

Surely it is not pleasant for you, but if you want to learn genuine kung fu, you would be wise to swallow your pride, step back and take some time to re-evaluate your position.

Sifu Anthony is one of the best teachers in our school, given permission to teach by our Sifu. If you choose not to respect our school and our teachings, that is your perogative. But, then, you have no place on our forum.

                          Truly,
                          Charles David Chalmers

Kevin, I'm glad to hear that your shoulder is better already. Not bad for 1 month, eh? Keep up the good work, and keep in touch.

Dear sifu anthony and sorry for calling you a jerk I was just angered over the responses I got even though I was getting great advice, don't think of me as a person with a bad attitude I just wanted to learn more about shaolin kung fu and I don't have $1000 to train at shaolin wahnam so I'm practicing kung fu by myself which is very hard without any help.

Dear matt(drop360) i'm sorry for the rude comment you where giving me good advice and I was ignoring it I will listen to your advice more and learn from it. forgive me for my response and we can become friend's instead.

                                Dear Steven,

I just logged on to do a little moderation, and was happy to see your apology.
I'm glad you are able to see Sifu Anthony's good intentions and benefit from his words.

                                Good luck with your practice.

                                Yours,
