    Hello all,

My name is Blake I'm 25, I live in Darwin, Australia. I have had a bit of an interest in chi kung for a while now and that is how I blindly stumbled across this forum, I lurked here for a few weeks and have finally decided to join up, in a hope that I may get some answers to various curiosities I have, (though I can't for the life of me think of any right now)

Some background on me, I haven't studied too much kung fu I have been doing a bit of Wing Chun for the past year now, and prior to that I did a year of Thai kick boxing and after that a couple years of BJJ.

While I was at Wing Chun I had a lot of fun and met really nice people and the instructors were all very nice people as well, but after a while it wasn't having the same impact as when I had first started, but one day a senior brother came to the school for a week or two from Queensland to instruct and help out and it was great I seemed to progress again and then it was back to normal when he left. I was back to drilling the same few moves, as important as the basics are it got to me that when I first started I was doing those and so many others as well, then got relegated back to those few.

Enough about that, I signed up here hoping to one day be able to come and participate in some seminars and also hopefully find a teacher/instructor/sifu to aid me in my self discovery and development of martial spiritual skills. Finally, honestly I am not exactly sure what it is that I am looking for but I feel that this is roughly the right direction,

    Kindly, Blake

I'm going to start at the start, and ask what is the best way to begin chi kung without an instructor/sifu. Is learning Tai Chi of any great benefit or has added benefits to learning Chikung It seems the only person that I knew here in Darwin has moved intercontinental. Next, where in Australia can instructors be found. I only ask because of work I occasionally may be moved around for a period of months or so.

One last question is neikung chikung ? if no what’s the difference ?
I apologise if I should have asked these questions elsewhere I’m still learning to navigate this place.

Find the best material you can from the best Master you can (e.g. our Sifu's books) and practice exactly according to the instructions.

Your questions were/are all "proper". Looking forward to the next ones.

By the way, it may be easier to start a new thread (in the appropriate section) for each of your questions. That way others will find their own answers easier in future.
