I found out about this fairly new institution yesterday, and was wondering if anyone else here has heard about it. You can read about it at www.venganza.org
It's pretty funny, I suggest at least just taking a peak to see what it is.
I've heard of it, and from my limited understanding, it is primarily used as a tongue-in-cheek way to refute the desire of some people to replace the teaching of evolution with that of creationism in schools. The argument goes something like, "If you are saying that creationism is valid science and that it should be taught in schools because some people believe in God, I have just as much evidence that the Flying Spaghetti Monster exists and created the world in such-and-such a way, so you must teach about him, too."
Of course, I'm just stating my understanding of it, not my position on any of this. But I do like the sketches.
Yes, the founder, Bobby, was upset because he saw implementing required education on Intelligent Design as being a forced means of preaching, which he is against. The whole thing is admittedly silly, now it's really just for entertainment.
In my opinion, the strongest argument made by Bobby is that Pirates are divine beings, favored by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. He proves this by showing the correlation between the falling number of Pirates in the world, and the rising global temperature. This explains the number of natural disasters, since the Flying Spaghetti Monster wants more Pirates!

Verily, I say, you have been touched by His noodly appendage.
Wouldn't it be amazing if when we die we are greeted by an omnipotent pasta-dish parading around in a paradise of pirate infested parmesan?
It makes me wonder though, in the conceptual domain of reality anything can exist so... it really makes me consider if these people wont find just that upon their deaths! What a helluva reincarnation that would be.

Word has it they'll also be treated to a stripper factory and beer volcano.
