I am happy to say we are also practicing 100 days of One Finger Shooting Zen. Julian, Charles and I started on January 1st. I really enjoy this practice with my family! We practice in the evening together, tonight will be day 14.
I as of January 1, made a vow to practice in developing Cosmos palm Every Day! as outlined in Si-Gung Wongs Book of Shaolin Kung Fu. I have not missed a day since and taking in such a vow has kept me motivated. Of course I will mix up the other Chi Kung Postures in with it as well.
My hope for Developing Cosmos Palm is not just to break the bricks but to learn to heal others and better my Internal Force Training. Some of you here should try taking a vow.

Master Kahn: Each man must start with himself, within himself.. By slowly forging his Chi, the bond between the finite and the infinte, the inner essense of his strenght and the limitless power of the Universe, only thus can you conquer the power.. and the presence of evil.
I have made my vow to practice Lifting the Sky for 100 days! I just went out and got myself a calendar and put 3 big red X's on it! Good luck to everyone and thank you Antonius for giving us the great idea!
Glad to see that this thread is having such a positive effect.
For those who haven't already seen it, my Kung Fu Progress chart might also be of interest: http://www.flowingzen.com/Kung-Fu-Progress-Chart.pdf (Keep in mind that this is MY version of the 72 Arts, not the traditional version.)
David (Buddhasfist1), please check your email. As I said in the email, I do not recommend that you, or anyone else, practice Cosmos Palm out of Sifu Wong's books. Cosmos Palm is an advanced art, and should be learned directly from a master, and with his or her blessing.
Molly, does the secret handshake look anything like that scene from E.T.?
dear family,
I have made the same vows and oaths every day for years, it can get a bit comical I get so serious about it! its always simple, just the usual suspects, chi flow, golden bridge, one finger zen etc, and i find it increadibly hard to practice every day, how I want, in reality, cos life is so crazy.I got ill baby and crazy family problems, its a madhouse often!I have been reduced to tears of frustration many times because its not a lack of energy or enthusiasm, just a lack of time and space. And I know many others have much less time and space than me!
So I`m trying to learn to relax when I can`t train how I want, and then train with zeal when I get the chance!
So I keep on with my usual vow, and try to relax and flow at the same time, I guess its been said many times, some kind of effort without effort!!
I am also glad that people try to train something a little more serious over a time period:
For those who are interessted: I have made this try-out with my classes in Bern and Zürich last year! In Mai I aksed may students to define their personal aims and objectives and asked them to chose their fokus on:
a.) Golden Bridge or Araht is Carrying the Water as core force training= solid force training
b.) The Art of Flexibilty as core training=flowing force training
The training would last until the end of the year!
The outcome was very interessting. Not only students could increase their interal force level, but also attain more effects on their personal aims and objectives! The most significant change besides the Internal force was the development in all their personality!

nice thread. As it is, I have decided to train One-Finger-Shooting Zen every day last wednesday without knowing about this thread. This encourages me in my practise. I shall be thinking of you every time I train.
I didn't think about having a timeframe. It is logical and challenging. I like it. I have a question though, If I choose to do a stance, would it be advisable to do the stance for a specific time every day? or should I increment my breaths or minutes as I go along?

That was a great thing !
Sifu, did we start in may? I thought it was March - never mind...
Due to missing the initial training and a slight missunderstanding, whoes reasons don't have to be outlined here, and Sifu not correcting me for what reasons ever...I did choose neither a) nor b), instead I did Single leg Stance for that time.
My aim was to get it up to 8-10min. each leg and my objective was to get more focused in my training and in daily live and to get a more one pointed mind. - yes it worked very well, I became much more focused at work and at home and in my training. I made it up to 81/2 min. and more important, I managed to do some of that time in a highly relaxed state, sometimes it even became meditative.
Yeah that really was great.
That may be the reason why I didn't hezitate and started doing 100 days of One finger shooting Zen now...
Happy Training everybody
Pat

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- He who knows much about others may be learned, but he who understands himself is more intelligent. He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still.
Sifu's post inspired me to commit to 100 days of One Finger Shooting Zen.
However, I had to wait six months until May (when I flew in for the seminar to learn One Finger Shooting Zen) before I could start.
I am happy to say it has been 100 days since I was taught OFSZ, and I have practiced 100 days of OFSZ.
It has been a wild ride of kung fu, chi flow, force building, potential unlocking, and zen! I am thoroughly convinced of the power of momentum after the 100 days. My mind is several times stronger and clearer now than it was in May, and my health has improved tremendously. And I'm not speculating, I'm living it.
If someone had told me in May where I would be now, I would not have believed them. Here's to our wonderful Shaolin Arts!
Once you've established your rhythm, it just becomes habit. As for myself I just celebrated 8 months today, and as your Sifu said to me today, "very good, carry on".
I've only missed one session but no days of lifting the sky. It is the only thing I have been trained in so far, but I would love to practice this every day. =)
