    Dear Adam,

Thanks for your kind words. I hope that we will be able to train together on a regular basis.

    Molly,

It's nice to hear from you. It would be great if you could make your way here. There is an outside chance I can make it to Chun Nga's wedding, but if I don't you will still have a chance to meet my wife, Lara, and our children.
I will also be able to make it down about the sixteenth or so; perhaps we will train on Langkawi then.

    Emiko Sije,

It's also very nice to hear from you. Thanks for your warm wishes. Yes, I am sure that we will get a chance to meet one another in the very near future.

    Until then I remain,

    Charles

      Dear Charles,
A tai chi teacher of mine is from Dalien. I know for a fact that you'll definitely enjoy it there. Congratulations on the move!

        Wahnam Family

        Dear Wahnam Family,

I would like to share with you the latest chapter in our China life.

This past weekend we had another special visit from our kung fu nephew, Sifu Adam Kryder. We were also blessed to have another nephew visit with him: it was our first time meeting and training with Andreas Dietsche (Feynman on our forum) and it was a pleasure, indeed. Like Adam, Andreas is also living in Beijing and studying Chinese. Lara and Andreas will be attending the upcoming Kung Fu Intensive in Malaysia and are both dilligently preparing for that.

We hope that Adam and Andreas will be able to come again and train very soon, and perhaps next time there will bring yet another kung fu kinsman! (Perhaps it could be you.)

The weekend passed quickly, but we managed to have a number of training sessions.

        Here are some pictures.

                    Dear Sisuk Charles,

Thank you for your post above. The following:

                    Xin Chao Martin
I instinctively thought it was a traditional way of addressing me in chinese within the kung fu circle so I asked my wife (she speaks cantonese and a little mandarin) what it meant. She looked puzzled . I said could it mean nephew? No she replied. I spelt it out for her. It still did not make sense. I let it go.

Several hours later for some reason I thought about it again and pronounced the words Xin Chao in my head. It hit me straight away that it was "greetings" in my own mother tongue language - Vietnamese and naturally brought a big smile to my face .

I pressume my interpretation is correct. Thank you Sisuk Charles for the effort in finding the words. Its much appreciated.

                    Kindest regards

                    Your Sijat-Martin

                      Dear Martin,

I'm glad that my rudimentary Vietnamese can still be of some use. I lived in Vietnam with my famlily for two years, so I can still remember a few phrases.

                      Still,

                      Bac Cha

                        Dear Family,

After almost two years in Golden Pebble Beach, Dalian, my family and I are moving back to our home in the woods.

During our stay here, the Chinese have been exceptionally gracious and kind to us, and we have enjoyed great luck.

My students have been dilligent, inquisitive, intelligent and persevering; and most (if not all) will go on to western universities. It has been very rewarding getting to know a little more about Chinese culture, and sharing my knowledge of western culture. My work here has been enjoyable and productive.

Next time we return to China, we will try to land the airplane further south--Guangdong could be nice, for a number of reasons...perhaps Penang...

Well, we have packing to do. The bus leaves tomorrow morning. I just thought I would wrap up this section of our "Wahnam Family in China" thread.

Also, farewell to our dear nephew Adam, whom we are leaving in the capital. Best of luck with your new job and new life! It was great visiting and training with you and we will see you very soon.

Thanks to all of our well-wishers, especially to our dear Sifu!

                        Yours and Yours,
