    I've been told before to

    2) Write in paragraphs. This makes, what you are saying, much easier to read.
    3) Spell check every post.

My first post on this thread was three sentences and my second was two. All Sifu Joans sentences are on their own line as well. If you were refering to all my posts then fair enough. I felt it was a bit rediculous that you'd say to spell check and then right after have a spelling mistake yourself and not type in paragraphs.

I looked through my post on the God versus Science. I think it's very readable. In terms of purely reading but I don't expect anyone to grasp it because I had many headaches trying to come up with it. (joking about actual headaches) I have no idea how such a concept could be explained and understood because I haven't told many people. I was just throwing it out there because I saw the thread. I'll probably read it in a few months time and shake my head.

I do spell check. I re-read the entire post. I re-read the long post above about five or six times. I did spell check through Microsoft Word on that God versus Science and most of my problems are problems i've always had problems with. I have a's wear there should be e's and i's wear e's should be, visa versa. This problem mostly happenes wear there are "ex.." words example, experience.. there's a h in buddhist! whoops.. I honestly do try and spell check it's getting harder to remember mistakes I make now that I'm finished of school. It's so easy to correct on the internet now I don't bother to remember. One perticular word I had problems with was the word satellite. I had used the word so many times within the month and I had to spell checked it everytime, even just there, I would even have to refer to the word in the same post if I wish to type it again. It gets very frustrating sometimes. I spelt it satillite by the way.

One thing which annoys me about this forum is the fact I can't right click and copy text when in a text box. I have to press Ctrl + C. I have highlighted the text, I right click, no copy button... I then click randomly somewhere in the text box, rehighlight the text again, Crtl + C. This happens when I would be spell checking through google for instance. I would see words I don't think are right. Also Edit doesn't last long so I have to make sure everything is right before I post something long. I am at great risk of losing the enitre piece by a simple mistake with copying and pasting proper words in. Then I would have to copy the enitre thing when I'm finished incase it doesn't post and I lose the entire thing. I do try to make sure my english is correct.

Ok from now on I will stick with Chi Kung related questions. My apologies.

      Michael,

I will just point out something that your Sifu generously hinted:

A better way may have been to apologise to your Sigung, your Sifu and your Shaolin Wahnam Family for any misunderstanding which your comments may have caused.... In this way you are showing respect, showing a desire to learn, showing an open heart and showing an ability to follow instructions, all traits of a good student.
This is a very precious advice.

      Regards,

      Hubert.

Absolutely, Hubert. Michael has written one long post and was then given good advice on a better way to get the message across (is it really the desired message? Or was it just a comment?). Now, after receiving that advice he has repeated the same mistake.

Michael, regarding the copy paste problem, if you are using a Windows PC, you can us the copy and paste functions within that operating system and the related programmes easily. So that, for me, is more an excuse than a reason. And if you need more time to creat your posts there is an easy way to do that too .... in fact 2 easy ways:

        1. Write your post offline in any text editor you like and then, when it is complete, copy and paste the entire text into your new post at once ... so you need just a few seconds.
        2. When you log on to the forum, check the *remember me" box. But you then need to remember to log out again when you are finished.

Now you can put all of the advice you have received into practice easily.

And now, about the spell check.

Consider smle and smile, although it is misspelled, it creates no problem. Computer spell check will find smle as miss-spelled. People read it will understand it as a mistyped of "smile".

What about thought and taught? Wear and where.
All those words are spelled correctly, and the computer will not consider those as mis-spelled.
          But what about the meaning?
          think - thought.
          teach - taught.
          Very different, aren't they?

The title of this thread was originally "Who thought Sifu Wong Tai chi chaun?" At first glance, do people recognize the meaning as intended by the thread maker? My own impression when first reading it was "thought" derived from "think". After reading the content of the post did I realize that the meaning was "taught" derived from "teach".

That was the reason why one of the moderators stepped in to make correction to the title of the thread, but left the content of the post remain.

And that's what Sifu Joan wanted to imply when she gave advice to do the spell checking.

Ah.. I see. I never realised that thought was to think. A taught was to teach. I won't make that mistake again. That was very insightful thank you. I always thought.. that the word taught was spelled wrong so I always put down thought.

In regards to andrews post. It's more habit then anything. There is two other forums I use and the functionality is a slight bit diffrent here. It's not that I have to stay logged on it's that if the internet goes while typing a post and I could lose it. I have typed in documents before but small posts turn into long posts. I havn't lost any posts here so far anyway.

            In regards to huberts post.

"A better way may have been to apologise to your Sigung, your Sifu and your Shaolin Wahnam Family for any misunderstanding which your comments may have caused.... Reading over this again. It stands out a bit more or it has more profound impact now that I read it again. I guess I have been in my head a little too long. My apologies and a happy new year.

              Hi Michael,

I'm glad that you are able to see your mistake and apologize for it.

Back to the original question, I hope that my small understanding will be sufficient to shine some light on this very interesting topic.

What do most people learn from their Tai Chi teacher? Forms.

What is missing from most Tai Chi instruction? Internal skills, "the essence."

Having learned the necessary internal skills in his Shaolin Kung Fu training, Sifu Wong was then able to learn Tai Chi forms and bring them to life in a way that too few masters can. It was precisely this shortage of true Tai Chi masters that compelled our Sifu to learn Tai Chi.

Some people scoff, insisting that our Tai Chi is not real. To my mind that attitude displays a lack of knowledge of internal arts and authentic Tai Chi.
It is precisely the profound internal skills that Sifu learned in Shaolin Kung Fu that he was able to apply to Tai Chi. Remember that Tai Chi was developed by a Shaolin master, Chang San Feng, using the skills he had learned through Shaolin Kung Fu.

Thank you, MByte, for bringing this up as I would like to deepen my own knowledge and understanding of how my Sifu acheived such a marvellous feat.

              With Kind Regards,

I am glad you have been able to recognise this and apologise.

Sincere appreciation to everybody who has patiently taken the time to help Michael see his errors.

I'm pleased this has come to a pleasent conclusion. Michael, please also remember that addressing your Sigung (Grandmaster Wong) as Sifu is actually an insult both to him and to your own Sifu. Please remember this in future posts.
