  • Dit Da Jou

    Hey all,

On the recent Chin Na course Sifu gave us the recipe for Jou. His instructions were to use ten to twelve grams of each ingredient and cover with white rice wine.

My question is, can I use different amounts of herbs as long as I increase by the same increment? In other words, can I use twenty of thirty grams of reagents as long as I am using the same amount for each ingredient? You see I have rather large jars and it seems like an awful waste of space to only use ten grams. Will this increase adversely affect the resultant product?

    Hi Lumberjack dan

as far as I know from my experiences on european herbal medicine it shouldn't affect the result if you increase the amounts of all the ingrediences.
make shure that the proportions stay the same as in the given recipe, also the rice wine...

I don't know much about chinese medicine but I suppose it is the same with them.

PS could you kindley PN or mail me the recipe?

      Dear Daniel ,

What you did is alright : increasing the quantity of ingredients proportionately will not change the end product quality . Maybe you can sell the surplus to your classmates or interested martial artists .

Best wishes in your career and kungfu ,

      Damian.
