    COURSES

Introduction to Kungfu Internal Force and Combat Application
Many kungfu as well as other martial art practitioners are either amazed at internal force or sceptical about it. They also wonder how, if ever, kungfu forms can be used for combat. Here is a golden opportunity to find out. Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, the author of many kungfu books and well known for his teaching of internal force and combat application, has agreed to share these secrets in this 4-day course! If you do not experience internal force or know application of kungfu patterns for combat, you can ask for your money back! This course is meant for those who have some experience of kungfu or other martial art. It is a supplement (not a replacement) of what they are currently practicing. Fresh beginners may apply but they will have to work extra hard.

Advanced Tai Chi Chuan please note that this special course is only for instructors (of all styles).
Many Tai Chi practitioners have wondered how they can develop internal force and how to use their art for self defence. Here is a golden opportunity not only to find out but to acquire these skills yourselves in just four days! Despite his busy schedule, Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, the author of the highly acclaimed "The Complete Book of Tai Chi Chuan", has agreed to share these secrets here in England. If you do not experience internal force or know some self defence after the course, you can ask for your money back! This course is meant for those who have some experience of Tai Chi. It is a supplement (not a replacement) of what they are currently practicing.

    Generating Energy Flow
Generating an internal energy flow inside your body, which sometimes manifests outwardly as chi flow movement, is the most fundamental skill in chi kung. You will learn this skill within the 6 hours of the course. You will also learn the wonderful skills to relax, to focus your mind, and to open your heart.

    Shaolin 18 Lohan Hands
This set of chi kung exercises were first taught by the great Bodhidharma, the First Patriarch of the Shaolin Arts, to the Shaolin monks to strenghten them physically and spiritually so that they could better attain Enlightenment. We in Shaolin Wahnam are very fortunate to have inherited this treasure, and our Grandmaster is going to share it with the public irrespective of race, culture and religion. This set of exercises has helped many people recover from a great variety of illness as well as promote vitality and longevity.

Shaolin Eighteen Exercises for Health and Vitality
This is an amazing set of chi kung exercises that can cater for different people at various developental levels with different needs, such as physical recreation, energy flow, mind expansion, overcoming health problems as well as combat application. In other words, a beginner and an advanced practitioner may practice the same set of exercises, yet derive different benefits according to their different needs and levels. It is also the first time that these exercises have been taught in the United Kingdom.

    VENUE
Once again we will be using the fantastic facilities of the Sports Centre at the University of Kent overlooking the historical city of Canterbury. The University campus is situated in 300 acres of parkland and if the weather is nice there is plenty of room to practice outdoors.

    Accommodation
The University also has over 1600 rooms on campus and with the Summer Camp being held whilst the students are all on holiday, booking a room should not be a problem. Just imagine being within walking distance of the venue, plenty of room to practice on your own or with (new) friends in between classes. All within an easy bus ride to the beautiful city of Canterbury. What more could you ask for? The University has a range of rooms available, all reasonably priced. Call 01227 828000 to book.

    Location
The University is only 56 miles from London and is on main bus, road and rail links making getting there and back effortless. The main website for the University, should you want directions, details, maps etc is: http://www.kent.ac.uk/.

If you have any further questions or wish to book a place please contact me marcus.santer@shaolinwahnam.co.uk I look forward to meeting you there in July!

    Kind regards

    Marcus

I'd like to quote Lumberjack Dan's post made on the "other" Summer Camp post in this directory. I'm posting it here as this is the thread that has all the current information on Summer Camp 2006.

      Hello Jt,

I could not help but notice that your situation is alot like mine was. I am eighteen aswell and not in the best of finacial situations either. I discovered Sifu through "The art of Shaolin Kung-fu," just as you did. It was such an amazing book that it inspired me to spend five months working awfully long shifts to get the funds required to attend the intensive Shaolin Kung-fu course. And I must say, it was absolutley worth it!

If you are debating whether or not to attend, I would highly recommend it!
Thankyou Lumberjack Dan for your kind words.

        Announcement

        Hello all,

The Masters' Tai Chi Chuan Course of the Summer Camp is principally meant to help Tai Chi Chuan instructors and masters of other styles to develop internal force and acquire combat efficiency to supplement their own teaching. This is part of our sincere effort to help restore the glory and greatness of kungfu (including Tai Chi Chuan, of course) irrespective of the styles practiced. However, Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan students have expressed interest in this course and they are also welcome to apply.

        Kind regards

        Marcus
