  • Anxiety, tiredness, physical pain, OCD

Initially sought out chi kung out of curiosity for further ways of 'clearing' constant physical discomfort, over-tiredness, anxiety/panic attacks, & what I would label as OCD.

I have always found it particularly difficult to let go (just be) during practice, but have still practised twice daily, & believe I significantly feel the benefits, especially if I compare how I feel now, compared to a year ago.

Since starting practice (and continuing to receive guidance in a number of different ways which I am so incredibly thankful for - esp Sifu), I feel I have a far greater understanding of self, and the core of who I am.

On a daily basis, my mind is clearer, and I can more easily separate from my inner critic - I almost notice this more if I don't practice although seldom, than when I do.

Not only have my daily energy levels increased in general, but I am so much less fearful, and I feel more 'in control' of my life, without actually needing to adopt avid 'control' (but yes, come & goes with a lot of experimentation in different areas!).

Seems that chi kung is helping me to experience/face my perceived 'pain' (emotional/physical), with a greater & deeper awareness, with greater acceptance (rather than running away from the feeling) resulting in this dissipating - in fact the more 'pain' I experience, the easier it gets, the more it disperses, & the fear drops. I'd encourage anyone with pain/experiencing difficulties to really persevere.

Still amazed at how simple chi kung is, yet how powerful, and continually thankful for being blessed with the introduction to this wonderful practice & inspirational guidance - thank you.

Thank you Joan, and good reminders!

For me, it really helped to be able to remember that even though I was thinking 'I can't' (let go or do this, 'I'm doing something wrong' etc), by believing & trusting/knowing deep down that 'I can', I seem to have been opened the gateway!

So many times it seemed very hard to even smile from the heart, but now that I've got it, I'm smiling all over the place, and lately have been positively beaming after practice! (which before could only seem to achieve in sifu's/group's presence).

It is interesting, but having taught qigong for a couple of years now, I find that not every one wants to confront their inner pain, their memories or physical problems. Previously, i had no idea how powerful denial can be. While I am an introvert, I am also very introspective, and I like to self-examine, but I came to realise many people try to keep busy to avoid dealing with themselves.

And those who do have a wish to get in touch with their inner selves sometimes only have a passing wish but do not have the conviction to follow through. Some students of mine actually blanched when I tell them to expect some "good pain" and cleansing after and during qi flow. But most if not all of them come around to the idea that "better out than in and festering."

I am happy that you are one of the few that not only made the decision to face your issues but also to persevere.

Thank you. I can't quite tell you how synchronistic this response feels to read right now - very apt & much appreciated.

                      Hello Elisa,

Thank you for sharing your story. Its so gratifying to hear that many such people like you whom have Pain in some way shape or form, are addressing and in most instances ridding or curing the cause of the Pain through the pracitce of Chi Kung.

It is true that Chi Kung is so simple and yet to many, it is also misunderstood. We are all so fortunate to have found such a precious Art that has been preserved. Intially we could just call it Karma, to have found something that would be the ultimate benefit to our lives and one day to the lives of others.

As many have already commented, continue that practice, day to day, month to month and year to year, you will progress and get much better in your practice and in the benefits thereof.

I am very happy for your success, and continue to wish you the same happiness and pain free life in benefit of your continued practice. I hope to hear more about your benefit of practice in the future.

                      Best Wishes
                      David

Young Caine: How does man rid himself of such terrible things?
Master Kahn: Each man must start with himself, within himself.. By slowly forging his Chi, the bond between the finite and the infinte, the inner essense of his strenght and the limitless power of the Universe, only thus can you conquer the power.. and the presence of evil.
