  • Chi flow

    Hello everyone,
My name is Jung. I haven't taken any courses with Shaolin Wahnam, but when I was around 14 years old I came across Sifu Wong's book on Chi kung and started practicing. I was able to go into chi flow. Of course, being young and impatient I quickly lost interest.

However, even now (I'm currently 19) I can still go into chi flow whenever I want to. When I do, I find that I feel refreshed/invigorated and my body feels warm/cool and tingly. I was wondering if it was safe to continue with practicing chi flow by myself, or should I stop until I am able to obtain person instruction in the future?

This is a good sign, so I assume you're doing it correctly. But I think more background information is needed.

When you go into chi flow, do you use any dynamic patterns to generate a chi flow, or do you just go into chi flow?

Also, are you able to bring yourself back under control quickly and gently? This was my problem when I practiced on my own before I learned from Sifu.

And most importantly: Are you following Sifu's directions respectfully, to the best of your ability?

I'd say that if you are able to bring the chi flow back under control, and you are following Sifu's instructions, you should be safe, but I think I should let those senior to me confirm that.

        Hi Jung,

If you haven't already I would suggest re-reading the book you used to start your practice to make sure you're following the instructions. As you said, when we're young we're more impatient and you might have missed an important detail when reading about the exercises.

But, of course, attending a course will be the best.
