    Dear Sisook,

No the topic was not brought forward during the course. I must admit that by the time we had reached combat sequence 10 and 11, there had been so many new insights, that I did not remember the question . Also when practicing them in the context of CS 10 or 11, their difference seemed very clear and both combat sequences offered (especially CS11 ofc) so many other challenges ...

Maybe Peter who is more experienced or any of our Seniors can answer better.

    Andrea

PS. Sigung has uploaded a video of "catch the snake",the text of this page also discusses its application: http://www.shaolin.org/video-clips-4...6/taiji43.html
Maybe there will be videos of the two combat sequences in the continuation of the series. Checking quickly I saw that their are nice videos on the disks (Disk 3, video 6108 for lead horse without response; 6119 for CS11 and the specific body movement of catch snake here).
Enjoy some Wahnam Tai Chi Chuan & Qi Gong!

I think Andrea's answer is good - in context of practising the sequences with a partner the differences become clear. From reviewing the videos again and my own practice - leads horse back to stables is executed as a fell, where as small boy catches snake is a gripping technique.

We did specifically ask about the grip in small boy catches snake and Sifu confirmed it was an Eagle claw.

      Hope this helps,

      Peter
