  • Lifting the Sky

    Hi again.

First I want to thank for all the previous advises I got. As I mentioned before I had a problem with carrying the moon. I'm not sure if I will be able to do it untill I get to the instructor to teach me do it right. I try to do it but I have some little headaches (beside this I feel good and experience chi flow I guess).
But I found that while doing lifting the sky I enjoy it a lot. I just like like it.
I would like to ask if there are any limits of how many times the excercise can be repeated? Is it ok if I do it 100 for example?
I do not how it affects my herniated disc but I feel it strongly beneficial to my spine on the whole. My posture is not perfect normally (lordosis, little scoliosis etc.) and after lifting the sky I feel like my posture is much more like it should be.

    Best regards
    Marek

Just follow the instructions. It's as simple as that. If the instructions says "repeat 15 to 30 times", then repeat 15 to 30 times --- not more and not less. If it were better to repeat 100 times, the instructions would say so.

Thank You. I read Your story about discs and smoking. Sounds great.
I started carrying the moon again (after reading genuine instruction and Your advice) and it seems much better now.
In one Sifu's answers he sais to a man with herniated disc to do carrying the moon and bear walk. To other man with improper spine cuvarture do lifting the sky and carrying the moon.
Can I do these three? Well my spine on the whole is not perfect. I could not find instruction how many reapts it should be.
Sifu Wong also advices lifting the sky as a remedy to a guy that had some problems due to wrong training. If my problems with carrying the moon reoccur would lifting the sky be remedy for this (just in case).
Sorry for bothering You with so many questions. It will take some time till I can afford to travel to the instructor and my spine is not well now.

This is not physical exercise where often it is better to do more. This SHOULD be Chi Kung where often more is less. Practice ONE exercise for the moment (Lifting the Sky OR Carrying the Moon). If you choose Carrying the Moon and have difficulty, use Lifting the Sky as a remedial exercise.
