...for your warm words. This is a very rare opportunity, and I am grateful to Sifu Yumi for having asked Sifu to give the course when he was in Tokyo. (And, of course I'm grateful to Emiko Sije and Joan Sije for having taken on the administrative responsibilities in organzizing the course; not to mention to Sifu for generously agreeing to give it.)
Bowing with gratitude all around,
-P.
As an additional note, the afore-mentioned marketing campaign will continue.

Reason: Spit and polish.
The Buddha taught that there is no abiding self. To me, this is a wonderful truth... largely because I can't abide the selves of most other people.
It's good to see you on the forum, and great to hear that you are indeed coming to the Intensive Taijiquan Course.
Dear Shaolin Family,
I am pleased to let everyone know that the latest count is that we now have participants from more than 8 different countries, totalling more than 20 registrants!
With so many attendees, there is no doubt that our "hands-on" skills will improve dramatically in a short time.
For those of you still debating about whether you'd like to come Penang (to eat that delicious food and enjoy abundant shopping) in September, please take a look at this link that Sifu/Sigung has kindly set up for us:
Learning the Wahnam Taijiquan Combat Sequences Step by Step.
It is, to my mind, the most generous and advanced rendition of the 12 Basic Wahnam Taijiquan Sequences I have seen to date. Each sequence is broken down into precise segments, and if you have the eyes for it, you may start to "see" some of the "open" secrets present in each of the sequences.
Even if you are not coming to the course, I'd like to invite course participants and forum visitors alike to make comments and observations on any sequence of their choice from this wonderful "Step-by-Step" Series.
Beginners and visitors, don't hesitate to post here. There is something for everyone here.
The new Step –by – Step video of sequence 12 shows the defender grabbing the arm, but the “original” video with Sifu Robin shows the initiator grabbing the arm.
I know Sifu is always making improvements to his teaching but can you please confirm that it is the new version that we should now be practising.
I took a look at the new 12 Step-by-Step Sequences that were recorded in Costa Rica, along with the pictures series done by Sifu and Sifu Chun Nga. For some reason, I was not able to access the video footage of Sifu Robin (due to a codec error).
What I can conclude, after watching the Costa Rica footage and comparing it to Sifu's picture series is that the title of the sequence speaks for itself. If the title of the sequence is "Carry Tiger Back to Mountain", then it is the initiator who performs this move. It is always the initiator who performs the signature move of a combat sequence. (If you go back through any of the combat sequences in Shaolin Kungfu or Wahnam Taijiquan you will discover that this is the case.)
I hope that this helps. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to post here again.

Happy flow,

Thank you very much Emiko Sije for sharing this link with us.
I guess I was the lucky one to see those videos being taken during the Taijiquan course in Blue Mountain Costa Rica this year. :-) It was indeed an impressive experience to see Grandmaster Wong and Hubert performing the 12 combat sequences. On the other hand, it was also a great challenge, because of the arising wish to improve my own skills and to become more proficient in these great arts.
I am looking forwars to meeting you in September in Penang and to add from my part to the mixture of participants and nations during the course :-).
Warm regards,

Thank you, Emiko Sije, for posting the link to those videos. They are excellent. However, some of you using this as review material for the course may have trouble viewing them due to a codec problem. I've found this easily remedied by downloading the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP but not this kind: Союз Советских Социалистических Республик referring to the Soviet Union)
It's a safe program that is small in size and will allow various video files to play smoothly through almost any media player. I use Windows Media Player. Here is the link. Unfortunately, there is no mac equivalent. It's only Windows based.
