I've been on a Baguazhang kick lately (when aren't I?
), watching many videos on Baguazhang to learn more about how other folks do things. I ran across this documentary (narrated in Japanese, which, sadly, I am not very proficient in) about the master Wang Shu Jin, infamous for saying, "Karate is only useful for beating up old women and children!" and then proceeding to win every challenge match thrown his way. Also famous for breaking the wrists of people attempting to punch him by exhibiting ridiculously subtle control over his equally famous belly.
Despite some of the video being choppy 60's/70's black and white camerawork and him weighing over three hundred pounds, the man still moves smoother than me, haha!

Illusions
A great example of how what we think we see can be very different from reality. Make sure to watch through to the part where he hits the drum cymbal.
Love, and do what you will.

That cymbal strike video was awesome. Did you know that glass is also a liquid although very slow flowing? In very old houses you can sometimes observe that the window glass is thicker at the bottom due to the glass slowly flowing downwards through the years.
Some dining inspiration from animals..

Some nice videos about Kungfu:
Tong Bei Quan, nice video showing their force training in stances, and combat applications.

Some great videos about a rare family style of Chuo Jiao Kungfu (Gu Zhizi). Apart from sequences, they some some interesting footage of stance training on their toes,
using herbal remedies for their feet, and abdominal breathing in the last video.

Tim, you´ve been busy!
This is a very good example of a false conclusion based on a misunderstanding, so thank you for posting itOriginally posted by Omar View PostDid you know that glass is also a liquid although very slow flowing? The truth is even simpler; the glass would set imperfectly and, wisely, they would always use the thickest part for the base.
