开心 好运气 kai xin... .......hao yunqi... - Sifu's speech, April 2005
open heart... good chi flow... good luck ...

Have we not opened up thy heart ...? (The Reading, 94:1)

Be joyful, ..and share your joy with others -(Anand Krishna)
We had a birthday dinner and cake for Fleur last night. Sifu and everyone sang her Happy Birthday. However, she was tricked with candles that don't blow out. We plan to "play" with these candles as we try to extinguish them with strikes at a distance.
Thank you all for those lovely thoughts - I had a really wonderful birthday with my 'second family'
Sifu 'ambushed' me at the end of the Cosmic Shower course by leading a group rendition of Happy Birthday, and it was slightly surreal but very special to see so many shining faces, singing together.
Later Rin cooked a fantastic meal, I even got a cake complete with a most spectacular Roman candle (My son is in Rome on a school trip at the mo). I almost managed to set my hair on fire trying to blow out the inextinguishable birthday candles, which Robin promised very sincerely weren't bought from a joke shop.
Sifu wished me a 'Happy Birthday Everyday' - actually it was more an instruction, or a fact, than a wish. So I will try to be a good student.
As for pressies, £200,000 worth of chi isn't a bad start!
